[27 Dec 2009|09:39pm] mabnyx [ mood | hungry ] [ music | football. ] HEY INTERNET WHAT'S UP I'M STILL ALIVE AND HEY GUESS WHAT I'M GOING TO BE ON YOUR TELEVISION. NO SHIT. I made it onto "Jeopardy!" and I already taped it. I can't tell you how I did. It was the weirdest, most stressful thing I've ever done (let's not talk about the time I booked at the wrong hotel and called Kyle freaking the fuck out because this trip was to prove I could do stuff by myself and I ruined absolutely everything, because really things kind of evened out in the end) but everyone was super nice and I met a lady who went on three dates with Keith Olbermann when they were in college, and that lady was the BEST, and Alex Trebek liked my shoes, and apparently I looked pretty on camera (? they put so much makeup on you!) and have you ever been to Los Angeles? Don't go to Los Angeles. It is horrible and it takes forever to get anywhere and (Chicagoland reference ahoy) it is just like fifty Schaumburgs all stuck together. And one Schaumburg is bad enough, why would I want FIFTY? Also it smells. It smells horrible. I mean, some parts of Chicago smell horrible, but other parts smell like chocolate and popcorn, and it is beautiful. Ugh. Seriously, never go to Los Angeles. The best things about it were Yogurtland and Peet's Coffee, and those are all over California! You don't have to go to Los Angeles. Oh, except we did go to Pink's, because I went with my brother and his girlfriend, and it was like one of her life goals to go to Pink's. They had a veggie dog that had like a pound of guacamole on it. It was awesome. IN CONCLUSION: YOU CAN SEE ME ON "JEOPARDY!" ON MARCH...10? I THINK? I WILL LET YOU KNOW. Oh some other things have happened in the past eleven weeks. My grandmother died, Kyle got into the MLIS program at the U of I, Christmas (which was kind of great, actually, if only because all the cookies I made were, like, the best cookies ever), snow, cooking (braised tofu, peas, and potatoes in curried coconut milk OH MY GOD), delicious beer, "Where the Wild Things Are", unexpectedly seeing the girl who was my best friend when I was twelve, and more snow.
